If you're studying in Vizag — at Andhra University, GITAM, MVGR, or any of the other colleges around the city — you already know that getting around can be a pain. Autos are expensive if you're using them daily, buses are unreliable on many routes, and buying a bike outright is a big commitment for a student budget. Renting is often the most practical middle ground.
Here's a straightforward look at how to make it work without overspending.
If you need a bike regularly — for college commute, part-time work, weekend trips — a monthly rental is significantly cheaper per day than daily or weekly rates. At Ever Green Travels, monthly rates for scooters are far more affordable than running an auto daily, and you get the freedom of your own schedule.
For most students, a scooter is the right choice — fuel-efficient, easy to park on campus, and handles city roads without any issues. If your commute involves highways or you specifically want a motorcycle, we have those too.
A valid driving license is mandatory — no exceptions. You'll also need an Aadhar card or another government ID. A security deposit is required (₹1000 for bikes up to 150cc) and is fully refundable when you return the bike in the same condition. If you don't have original documents and can only provide soft copies, there's an additional deposit of ₹2000.
One thing students often ask — can a friend ride the bike? No, the bike can only be ridden by the person who rented it. If you want a co-rider arrangement, that needs to be discussed and approved at the time of booking.
If you and your hostel-mates or classmates are all looking for bikes, come to us together. We offer better rates for group bookings and it's easier for us to manage multiple bikes going to the same area. A group of 4-5 students all renting for a semester is something we're happy to work out a deal on.
This isn't just advice — it's important. If you're relatively new to riding, start with a scooter. Automatic transmission, lower weight, easier to control in city traffic. We'd rather you have a smooth experience on a scooter than a stressful one on a bike that's more powerful than you're comfortable with. As your confidence builds, you can upgrade.
This is the most important budget tip of all: damage costs money. Park in covered areas when possible, don't ride in conditions you're not confident in, and call us immediately if anything happens — mechanical issue, minor accident, anything. The longer you wait to report something, the worse it tends to get. We're fair with students who communicate honestly — it's the ones who hide damage that end up with the bigger bills.
