Vizag Is Best Explored on Two Wheels — Here's Where to Go

We've been running bike rentals in Vizag for years, and if there's one thing we've learned from our customers — this city rewards those who explore it on a bike. No traffic jams, no parking headaches, no missing that perfect viewpoint because you couldn't pull over. Just you, the road, and Visakhapatnam in all its beauty.

Here are the spots our riders love the most, in no particular order.

1. Kailasagiri — Start Here

If you're new to Vizag, Kailasagiri should be your first ride. The winding road up to the hilltop is genuinely enjoyable — smooth curves, cool breeze, and once you reach the top, the panoramic view of the Bay of Bengal makes the whole climb worth it. The giant Shiva-Parvati statues are a great photo spot. Go early morning if you can — the light is soft and the place is much quieter.

2. Rushikonda Beach — 20 Minutes from the City, Feels Like Another World

Rushikonda is one of those places that never gets old. The coastal road leading there is smooth and flat — perfect for beginners or anyone just looking for a relaxed evening ride. Park up, grab a coconut water from one of the vendors, and sit by the water for a while. Simple, but genuinely refreshing.

3. Yarada Beach — Vizag's Best Kept Secret

Most visitors skip Yarada because it's not on the usual tourist trail. That's exactly why you should go. The road takes you over a small hill with some stunning viewpoints along the way. The beach itself is clean, rarely crowded, and has a peaceful quality that's hard to find closer to the city. A 150cc or above bike handles the route comfortably.

4. Simhachalam Temple — Worth the Climb

The ride up to Simhachalam is as good as the destination. The ancient temple sits on a forested hilltop and the architecture is genuinely impressive. If you're not visiting for religious reasons, the atmosphere and the views still make it a worthwhile stop. Early mornings are best — quiet roads and cool air.

5. Borra Caves — The Long Ride That Pays Off

At about 90 km from Vizag, Borra Caves is the furthest on this list — but also the most dramatic. The route takes you through the Eastern Ghats, past deep valleys and small tribal villages that feel like they're from another era. The caves themselves are over a million years old. For this ride, we'd recommend a 150cc+ motorcycle — something with enough pull for the ghat sections. Let us know at the time of booking and we'll suggest the right bike for you. Read our complete Vizag to Borra Caves bike guide for the full route, timing, and what to expect inside.

6. Araku Valley — A Full Day Well Spent

Araku is around 120 km from Vizag, and the drive through the ghats is half the experience. Coffee plantations, tribal markets, cool weather — it's genuinely unlike anywhere else in Andhra Pradesh. Plan to leave by 6 AM to make the most of the day and ride back before dark. See our Araku Valley seasonal guide for when to go and what to expect each season.

7. Lambasingi — When It Gets Cold in AP

Known as the "Kashmir of Andhra Pradesh," Lambasingi sits at around 1000 metres above sea level and actually gets cold — sometimes near freezing in December and January. The fog-covered hills and apple orchards make it feel surreal. A great ride for anyone wanting something different from the usual beach destinations.

8. INS Kursura Submarine Museum — Unique Stop on the Beach Road

Parked permanently on Ramakrishna Beach, this decommissioned submarine is now a museum and a genuinely interesting place to spend an hour. The Beach Road itself is a pleasure to ride — wide, well-maintained, and lined with the ocean on one side.

9. Rishikonda Hill Viewpoint — The One Most People Miss

Just above Rushikonda Beach, there's a small road that climbs up to a viewpoint that most visitors never find. The view from the top looks straight out over the ocean and gives you a perspective of the coastline that you simply can't get from the beach. Worth the short detour.

10. Tenneti Park — Early Morning Ride Along the Water

Tenneti Park, perched on the cliffs above the sea near the Beach Road, is a great spot for an early morning ride. The ocean views are spectacular and the park itself is peaceful before the crowds arrive. Pair it with a cup of tea from one of the nearby stalls and you've got a perfect morning.
